When trolling for Big
Game fish such as Wahoo, Tuna, Stripers, Blue Fish, Barracuda, or
Dorado we suggest using a heavy 4-6 foot leader (60-120 lbs Mono).
Crimp the leader directly to a quick snap that is attached to tow
bar, or crimp directly to a ring on the Tow bar (as shown in picture).
Attach the leader to the main line, or tie to a swivel, so the line
won’t twist if the lure spins.
Please note:
These plugs need to be under the surface while trolling, to ensure
proper action. They will dig down with out weight if trolled fast.
Alternately a downrigger or inline weight will take the lure down.
If using an inline weight, add the weight above the swivel or leader.
If the plug is spinning or jumping out of the water, it’s
going too fast. Adding a large hook for weight will act as a keel
and allow for greater speed. The proper action is side to side.
